Jev AI in practice: 5x faster, but is it accurate enough? (opens on the source site)
Most AI agents spend their day making tiny decisions: which tool to call next, whether a step worked, whether an email needs a reply. Each one goes to an LLM, takes a few seconds,… The post Jev AI in practice: 5x faster, but is it accurate enough? appeared first on Hostinger Blog.
How Jev can help improve the efficiency of RAG pipelines (opens on the source site)
After generation, use a yes-or-no for each claim. Split the LLM's answer into individual claims. A simple sentence splitter is usually enough. For each claim, ask whether the retrieved chunks support it, then flag or remove anything below your threshold before the answer reaches the user. Why Jev? A grounding check only helps if you run it on every answer, and that's only realistic when each check is fast and cheap. In every case, Jev will deliver a probability and an answer. That's what makes the next part possible. Use the probability, not just the answer The real value of Jev here isn't…
Decide with Jev: Three Questions in One Request with the Laravel AI SDK (opens on the source site)
Laravel ·
A single yes or no doesn't tell you much about a draft. In this episode of Decide with Jev, we ask Jev three questions in one request and get back a Boolean, a choice and a score. Then we read every part of each answer in PHP. The post Decide with Jev: Three Questions in One Request with the Laravel AI SDK appeared first on Laravel News. Jev for Python engineers (opens on the source site)
Vercel ·
It's simply impossible to not hear about Jev. Seemingly everyone is tinkering with it in some way, from using it to make trading decisions (what could possibly go wrong?) to generating UIs with it (maybe we're onto something here!). Jev is a new kind of AI model. You feed it data and ask it a set of multiple-choice questions, and it responds with its answers and how confident it is in each. Just like with any other model, Jev can and will make mistakes, but it will make them fast. The bottom line is: Jev is built for making narrow decisions. Whether it's accurate enough for your use cases…
★ More Jev in There There: smart conditions and AI assignment (opens on the source site)
Recently I wrote about how we use Jev in There There to detect spam, bounces, and automatic replies. Jev reads an incoming email and answers questions we define up front. We keep the probabilities and decide in our own code what counts as a match. The cheap checks on mail headers still run first. That post ended with a promise that we'd find more uses for Jev. Here are two we have since added to There There: smart conditions for workflows, and automatic assignment to a team or person. Describing a workflow condition in plain language Workflows already let you match a subject, sender, or…
Route every Claude Code message to the right model with Jev (opens on the source site)
Pulumi ·
Not every message you send to Claude Code needs the most capable model. A quick question about a Git command runs on the same model as a refactor across three services, unless you remember to switch models first. Jev, a new model from TypeSafe AI, can make that decision for you in a few hundred milliseconds and for a fraction of a cent. So I built jev-router, an open source router that asks Jev which Claude model each of your messages needs, and sends it there. What Jev is After co-inventing ChatGPT, I kept asking myself: why have superhuman chat models not led to AGI?I’ve spent the last 2…
Decide with Jev: Laravel AI That Answers with a Probability (opens on the source site)
Laravel ·
Decide with Jev is a new mini course where we build an app that checks if a draft does what its brief asked for. It uses Jev, an AI model from TypeSafe that answers with a number instead of text. In episode 1 we set it up and test it: a complete draft scores 0.96, and a thin one scores 0.02. The post Decide with Jev: Laravel AI That Answers with a Probability appeared first on Laravel News. Self-driving infrastructure with Pulumi and Jev (opens on the source site)
Pulumi ·
It’s been a weirdly great time to be building software. We’ve never had so many tools that help us get things done: endless cloud providers, regions, deployment frameworks, and now AI agents that can actually build and manage infrastructure for us. That’s part of what made this past week feel so big. TypeSafe AI opened early access to Jev, their SystemOne model, and we here at Pulumi were bitten by the excitement bug and got straight to work building. Almost immediately we were able to whip up some test agentic workflows that were making real, live decisions about infrastructure. If you’re…

Stopping a crawl when the data stops looking real with Jev (opens on the source site)
A Scrapy pipeline that asks a fast, calibrated AI model whether each scraped field still looks real, and stops the crawl when too many don't. What it caught, what it misses, and whether building it was worth it.
Jev, the model that cannot write a word, and where it fits in web scraping(does it?) (opens on the source site)
Jev by TypeFace AI cannot generate a string, so it cannot extract a field. What it is, how it differs from an LLM, and the one job it earns in a scraping pipeline.
AI Gateway now supports TypeSafe clients and an HTTP API for Jev (opens on the source site)
Vercel ·
You can now call Jev from TypeSafe AI through AI Gateway using an existing TypeSafe client or the HTTP API, in addition to the AI SDK. TypeSafe client: Point an existing TypeSafe client at AI Gateway without changing its evaluation calls. HTTP API: Call Jev directly from any language or framework. AI SDK: Call Jev from a TypeScript application using AI SDK. Jev is a probabilistic decision model for software. State goes in, and typed answers come out with probabilities attached, so there's no generated text to parse. Requests are billed through AI Gateway on all three paths, so they appear…

★ Detecting spam and auto-replies with Jev and the Laravel AI SDK (opens on the source site)
Yesterday Taylor announced that Jev support landed in the 1.x branch of the Laravel AI SDK. We started using it that same day for spam detection in There There. Let's take a look at what Jev is and how you can use it. How Jev is different from an LLM Jev is made by TypeSafe. An LLM generates text: you ask it something, it writes an answer, and if you want structured data back you have to ask for it and hope. Jev doesn't generate anything. You give it some state and a question, and it gives you back a number. TypeSafe calls these System One models. They read natural language like an LLM does,…
Jev is the fastest-adopted model in AI Gateway history (opens on the source site)
Vercel ·
Within 24 hours of launching on AI Gateway, Jev from TypeSafe AI reached more than twice as many paid teams as any previous model launch, making it the fastest-adopted model in gateway history. Jev passed every other comparison model in its first twelve hours and continued to widen its lead for the rest of the day. By hour 24, it was being used by nearly 13% of paid teams. That’s 2x as many as the GPT-5.6 family and over 6x as many as Fable 5.1. Jev’s launch shows how quickly a specialized model can find a place in production. Its first-day adoption was unmatched among recent launches; the…
TypeSafe AI's Jev now available on AI Gateway (opens on the source site)
Vercel ·
Jev from TypeSafe AI is now available on AI Gateway. Jev is a probabilistic decision model for software: state goes in, typed Choice, Score, and Boolean answers come out. Regular language models generate text one token at a time, which the application then parses and validates. Jev evaluates all declared questions in parallel and returns typed answers plus probabilities directly. That removes unnecessary text generation and makes it straightforward to automate clear cases while routing uncertain ones to review. TypeSafe reports Jev was up to 193.6x faster and 444.6x cheaper than LLMs on its…
