Procux announces TÜBİTAK 1501 support for AI-assisted SME procurement research
Procux Teknoloji A.Ş., based at Balıkesir Technopark in Türkiye, says its R&D project on natural language processing and tender optimization for small and medium-sized enterprises has qualified for support under TÜBİTAK’s 1501 Industrial R&D Projects Support Programme.
BALIKESİR, Türkiye — Procux Teknoloji A.Ş. has announced that its project, “KOBİ’lere Yönelik B2B Satın Alma Süreçlerinde Doğal Dil İşleme ve İhale Optimizasyonu Sistemi Geliştirilmesi,” has qualified for support under TÜBİTAK 1501. The project title describes the development of a natural language processing and tender optimization system for SME B2B procurement.
The planned research focuses on interpreting procurement requests and improving tender processes. Procux aims to use AI methods to support the sourcing decisions of small and medium-sized enterprises. The announcement concerns an R&D project; it does not report independently measured savings, performance improvements or customer outcomes.
Bringing similar purchasing needs together
Procux’s procurement approach seeks to combine similar business requirements into joint purchasing opportunities. The model, which also underpins the company’s Merkezi Satınalma platform, is intended to help businesses access more suitable supply conditions through aggregated demand.
In remarks supplied in Turkish for this announcement, founder Abdullah Baydan said that being a small business should not prevent a company from benefiting from technology and joint purchasing. He described AI as a way to understand purchasing requirements and support decisions, with the eventual value judged by its usefulness in businesses’ day-to-day work.
Research in Balıkesir, with an international ambition
Procux develops its products at Balıkesir Technopark and aims to serve markets in Türkiye and internationally. The TÜBİTAK support announced here relates specifically to the SME procurement R&D project, rather than to the company’s entire product portfolio.
Baydan described the company’s broader ambition as developing complementary solutions for business decision-making, procurement and operations, with each product progressing according to its own requirements and stage of development.
The company acknowledged project adviser Assoc. Prof. Fatih Aydın and technical team members Zeynep Güney Karaca, Enes Koç, Sena Şaylığ and Mert Balcı. It also thanked TÜBİTAK for the project support and the Balıkesir Technopark ecosystem for supporting its R&D work.
